Ebay auction item #190225872155

I've been getting a lot of e-mails concerning this auction. So much concern in fact that I though I'd make a statement about it.

The seller has done a quite nice job of hypeing this, remember if it sounds too good to be true it ain't.

The tantalus used in the 1960 Pal feature was used previously in at least three other films including the 1952 film The Bad and the Beautiful so his claims that the box was built for George Pal is completely unfounded. When the seller was confronted with this he changed his story and said Pal ordered the box to replace the original which was destroyed in the Bel Air fire. Why would Pal need a second box when he had no model to put in it?

I asked David Pal to view the listing and his comment was:
"Absolute bunk, as far as I am concerned. I have never heard of Roy Carrington and have never seen the model. I never saw it in my father's office and never saw it at home. "

If you like the model for what it is then bid, but if you are bidding on it because it's a part of film history and a unique collector's piece don't.

Only 1 Lunar Model Time Machine kit in stock. When it's gone that's it.

January 31, 2008

I just found out that Lunar Models is closing it's doors. No more orders are being taken and they are closing up as of March 1. There may be a new buyer but don't expect anything soon. I have in stock only three of the Lunar Models Time Machine kits and when they're gone that's it, so if you've been putting off buying one now's the time to do it.

More bad news unfortunately.
Alps has completely stopped support of their MD series printers. Last March they stopped any repair of their machines and now have stopped making ink cartridges. There is another printer identical to the MD-5000 and uses the same cartridges but they are not distributed in the Uninted States. I can still get the cartridges but...the price is double what I used to pay. So unfortunately I'l be raising the cost of some of my decals.

Some good news, Masterpiece Models has had new decals printed for their 1/6th Time Machine kit by another company and I will be carrying them soon. Price for these should be comparable with current pricing.
