Francois Beaulieu is right in his estimation of the film - and Dreamwork's motivation. There are few people around today that know "The Time Machine" as well as he. As I see it, if you've already read the novel and choose to see the film you will understand just how much Hollywood underestimates its audience; almost to the point of contempt. For them to have removed the fundamental themes of the original Wells novel demonstrates (to me anyway) their willingness to sacrifice the very heart and integrity of a story in favor of their own version which is designed only to make money and be the lowest common denominator form of entertainment. It is truly a shame for them to have deliberately wasted such a prime opportunity. Charles Keller Webmaster, The H.G. Wells Societies Director, The H.G.
