My Commando Cody related projects

Myself and George Commando Cody Wallace at an autograpgh show in 1997. I didn't know George was an attendee until I found a table with his name on it. He returned to his table and I spent most of the afternoon talking with him. I returned to the show on Sunday with helmets in hand. I gave one to George, he was very moved by the present and he carried it with him to any signing event he attended. December 2004 was a tribute to him at the Hollywwod Heritage Museum in Hollywood Ca.

This is the beginning of my rocket pack.
This one just wasn't accurate enough so I scraped it and started over. The helmet was created using a motorcycle helmet as the base and urethane foam cubes were then applied and shaped. A lot of automotive body filler was used to get the final shape.

The prototype of the helmet prior to making a mold on it.

A completed control panel. The body is a 3/8" thick aluminum plate. The art work was done with rub on letters and Chart Pack tape then negatives were made and the art was silk screened on the aluminum. This was done in 1986 without the aid of a computer. The knobs were later replaced with copies which matched the originals.
