This model of the Simon Wells' 2002 Time Machine was constructed by Martin Fromme of Germany. The model is 30 cm (12 inches) and is made almost entirely of brass and wood. The model weighs in at 3.3 Kg. It was built over a nine month period and took 1000 hours to construct and contains over 1500 individual pieces. Martin found the photos on our website very useful for reference to build his model. There are 5 motors utilized in the model. Yes the dishes spin and in oposite directions as the machine in the film did. The landing gears also retract. Martin
also is in the construction phase of building a model of the George
Pal version in the same scale as his 2002 machine. |
