The evening
consists of ninety minutes of tableaux vivants (living pictures), incredibly
faithful recreations of classical and contemporary works of art,
with real people posing to match their counterparts in the original pieces.
The performance takes place in an outdoor amphitheater with a professional orchestra performing an original score with live narration. The presentation consists of intricate sets with very sophisticated lighting making it difficult at time to distinguish between the live performers and the painted 2d elements. Some of the presentations were complete 3d examples which rotated a complete 360 degree rotation so that nothing was missed. As this years theme was Time Travel they relied heavily on the time machine created by George Pal in his 1960 film version. Thrown in for addionial fun was a Delorean complete with a Marty McFly and Doc Brown look alike. Also a Tom Baker version of Dr. Who appered complete with TARDIS, he was brushed aside by the newest Dr. , a Jodie Whittaker look alike. Unfortunately photos were not alowed durng the performance so I had to scour the internet for what I have here on this page.
