Harvey Mayo

I

I first met Harvey in 1971 at Filmcon 1. He had a model of the Time Machine on display which really caught my eye as I had started to build a 1/6th scale model myself and now knew there was someone else as crazy as myself to do this. The model was for sale but at $1000 it was out of my reach.

In 1972 Bob Burns did his Halloween show based on The Time Machine. He had purchased the original machine and was having it refurbished for the show, Harvey was brought in to build a new console for the machine as the original was missing and it had been replaced by Tom Scherman in order for the machine to be on display at Lytton Savings along with several other props from George Pal films.

Donald Brockway

I first met Don on eBay, we were bidding on the same Time Machine items, back in the old days when you could actually see all the bidders names and contact them. We shared each others wins and didn't bid against each other. I was just learning how to create a website and wanted to build one about The Time Machine 1960 film and he was also currently building one. We both uploaded our respective sites about the same time. My site had about ten pages and I thiought that's about all it ever will have. I was wrong. Don kept his up for quite some time and then abruptly removed it. I never learned why. Sandra Petojevic in Sweden has preserved his site and expanded on it.
