Cody's Commandos-Hollywood Heritage George Wallace

The Hollywood Heritage Museum in Hollywood Calif. paid tribute to George D. Wallace on December 16, 2004. The evening began with a short background on the history of Republic Pictures presented by Marc Wannamaker noted Hollywood historian. Following Marc's presentation several trailers from serials were shown to acquaint the audience with what the serials were about. Next on the agenda was an open Q&A with a panel comprising Bob Burns, Marta Waller (daughter of Aline Towne) and two of the descendents of the owners of Republic. Following their panel, George was introduced and spoke about his career and and answered questions from the audience. Following the Q&A with George, George posed for photos and signed autographs.

George demonstrating how he was attached to a 2x4 for a flying sequence and ended up hanging upside down from it.	George had several anecdotes which kept Steve and the entire audience amused.
The Q&A was interupted by a loud banging on the side door, when opened, Gary Hughes wearing a full copy of Commando Cody's costume frantically entered and annouced that Radar Men from the Moon were invading Earth and George was needed immediately!	George still in 'shock'
Bob Burns and George Wallace, George is holding an original helmet from the serial.	The original costume from The Purple Monster Strikes worn by Roy Barcroft. Roy is seen wearing this in Radar Men from the Moon so footage from Purple Monster could be used in Radar Men. The helmet is also original, both are part of Bob Burns collection.

The helmet on the far left was cast from a mold taken on an original helmet. The next helmet I made from a motorcycle helmet back in 1986. The ray gun was built to be displayed at this event.
