Started
with a piece of 9" O.D. pvc drain pipe. Slot cut for the lever
control. |
Test
fit of prototype end cap in styrene. Finished piece will be made in
acrylic. |

date display on console and used a drill in process to remove excess

a router with flush cut bit to trim and finish openings. |

the date display as a template to cut the cover plate out of brass using
a router and then files to get into the tight corners. |
Cut
a stencil with my Brother Scan N Cut machine, attached it to the brass
plate, weeded out the letters and acid etched the lettering. |
Black
paint filled into the lettering. |

Three
plastic domes for the top lights, these may be replaced with glass if
I can find some. |
Used
my 22 watt laser to cut the acrylic lenses for the date display. Printed
the numbers on decal paper in reverse and adhered them to the back of
the lenses. |

Routed a rabbet in the display for
the lenses to drop in flush. |
